Christmas 2006

Christmas is fast approaching, but I'm not feeling it yet. Sure, we've done our Christmas shopping and been to company parties...But I'm not really feeling it yet. The holiday bug has yet to bite me.

If there is one thing I am proud of doing before the year ends, it is the fact that I gave 2 plastic bags of food to donate to the victims of the typhoon Reming in the Bicol region. Our company, Sykes, gave out plastic bags for us to fill up with anything. I took 2 bags and filled them up with noodles, coffee, sugar, sardines, crackers, toothbrushes, soaps and toothpastes. For the first time, I really felt that my money went to something helpful and meaningful. I wanted to give as many as I can afford to those people who lost their houses, lost their loved ones, lost all of their things...and still they can smile and say thank you in TV when they receive donated goods from other people. They make me feel so blessed to have a cozy home, a good career, a loving husband, a wonderful family, and many true friends.

This Christmas, let us look back at the things we should be thankful for. Let us help those in need. Don't be embarassed to say I'm sorry, I was wrong. Kiss your loved ones and always make them feel loved. What a wonderful world! Let us live our lives like there is no tomorrow.

Happy holidays everyone!
